Thanksgiving in Jackson Hole

This Thanksgiving Rex and Nyta, Scott's parents and his oldest brother invited us to come with them to Jackson Hole for the Thanksgiving weekend. They both have time shares up there. It was a really nice getaway. We really just relaxed and played games. Hopefully some day we can take the other kids up there with us.

Payton's First Halloween

Eventhough we were not planning on taking Payton out trick or treating we still wanted to get her a costume. Scott picked out this rooster costume for her. Payton and I hung out with Grandma after everyone came over for chili and scones and helped her hand out candy; Scott was at the Utah football game with his dad and brother.

Payton ABR Test (Hearing Test)

After Payton had four hearing tests done through the hospital we were told by the audiologist that we needed to take her to get an ABR test done. After two and half hours of the test we were told that Payton has a mild to moderate hearing loss. When I first heard the news I started to cry; you always want your children to be perfect. After about a week I started to accept it. We went in again two weeks later for another ABR test to verify the results of the first test. It was that day when we ordered her hearing aids, purple ones! We want people to know :)

About two weeks later the hearing aids came in. The audiologist put the hearing aids on Payton; she didn't mind them at all. Scott whistled at her and she turned her head; that was a very happy moment for us. Payton can now hear normally.

Since then we have tried out ways to insure that they stay on, though there are times where she decides to pull them off and put them in her mouth. We have a representative from the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind who comes twice a month to visit with us and work on goals for Payton. She suggested this last week that we purchase these pilot caps that will prevent Payton from pulling them off and putting them in her mouth. They work wonders, but they are a little goofy; we call her our little Amelia Earhart.

Scott's 20 Year High School Reunion

Scott's 20 year high school reunion was this weekend. There was not a get together planned with families so Scott planned one with his best friends from high school and their families to come over for a bar-b-que and swimming (thanks Dave and Gret!)

It was a lot of fun to meet his best buddies and their families.

Later that evening Scott and I attended his reunion dinner; 1989 was a long, long time ago, LOL. Love you sweetie!

Fun at the Farm

Scott's reallly good high school friend invited us to come to his family's farm and see the new animals they got. Hannah and Dallin went in to see the baby cows first; they had just got them the day before. The kids loved it, especially getting cow kisses.

Second, we went to see the blue ribbon goats. These goats had been raised since they were babies; they act like dogs. Hannah was cool with them but after Dallin saw one of them jump up on me he wanted to get out of the pen right away.

It was a fun time and hope to go back when they get their horses.

Dallin Turns 4 Years Old!

We celebrated Dallin's birthday by going to Lagoon and then coming home and changing into dry clothes since we all got soaked on Rattlesnake Rabbits as Hannah calls it :) and had family over for cake and ice cream and the opening of presents.

Payton's Blessing

Since all of Scott's family was here for the fourth we decided to also bless Payton. She was such a good baby the entire time and looked so beautiful in her dress. We are truly blessed to have this sweet daughter in her our home that our heavenly father has sent us.
Thank you to all that came and celebrated this special day with us.
